Exterior Upgrades in Grasonville Maryland
This Grasonville, Maryland project marked our second collaboration with this homeowner and focused on a comprehensive exterior transformation designed to improve durability, efficiency, and year-round comfort. We began by removing the existing wood fascia, rake boards, soffit, and beveled wood siding, replacing them with low-maintenance Azek trim at the fascia, rake, front entry porch ceiling, and soffits, along with custom window and door trim for a refined finish.
As part of the upgrade, we removed the original windows and installed energy-efficient Andersen 400 Series windows and a new patio door featuring SmartSun® insulated glass. The home was then fully wrapped with Tyvek house wrap and detailed with bituminous membrane flashing around all windows and doors to enhance weather protection. Composite railings were added along the front entry porch and new brick steps, providing both safety and visual appeal.
To expand the home’s usable living space, we enclosed the existing screened porch to create a comfortable all-seasons room, complete with a mini-split system for heating and cooling. The exterior was finished with Everlast® vinyl siding featuring pre-formed inside and outside corners for a clean, cohesive look. We also replaced the existing roofing with new 50-year shingles and installed Velux skylights to bring in natural light. The project was completed with new exterior lighting, resulting in a refreshed, energy-efficient home built for long-term performance.
