Deck Replacement in Queenstown Maryland
For this project in Queenstown, Maryland, our team completed a full tear-down and replacement of an elevated deck that was experiencing structural issues. The existing deck was carefully removed and rebuilt from the ground up, beginning with new 6×6 pressure-treated support posts and 2×12 pressure-treated joist headers and framing to create a strong, stable foundation.
To protect the space below, we installed ¾” tongue-and-groove Advantech sheathing over the deck joists, followed by a commercial-grade vinyl membrane system properly sloped to ensure effective water drainage. Pressure-treated sleepers with padding strips were then installed over the membrane to create a level deck surface while preserving the integrity of the waterproofing system.
The finished deck features durable TimberTech decking paired with sleek stainless steel cable railings, combining long-term performance with a modern aesthetic. The entire ground level beneath the deck was enclosed using the Nana screening system, creating a functional and comfortable screened area. To complete the project, we reinstalled the homeowner’s existing spiral staircase and replaced the stair treads to match the new decking, delivering a cohesive and thoughtfully crafted outdoor living space.
